This one was tough.
I really admire the work of Antoni Gaudí; he is one of the most inspirational artists of all time, not just in the realm of architecture. His work with shapes, colors, and little details is nothing but a pure marvel.
I wanted to create a colony spaceship heavily influenced by Gaudí. I faced many challenges during the project – the two most notable being that I had no exact reference for this project. Obviously, I found many spaceship and Gaudí references, but combining the two was a real challenge. The second challenge was that I couldn't use pre-made assets. Everything in the two artworks was created by me, and that was very time-consuming.
Although I'm very happy that I did these two because I learned a lot of things during the process. Also, the second artwork is heavily influenced by Piotr Krynski's excellent and comprehensive Efficient Environment Design course.
