The Last of Us - 20 YEARS LATER

Of course, like everyone else, I wanted to create a TLoU fanart too. I loved the sky bridges in the Part 2, so I imagined what the world of TLoU would look like 20 years later, when the cordyceps has overrun and occupied every ground-level place on Earth, forcing people to seek refuge in the heights for survival.

Both images feature Seattle locations and buildings, so I had to model them myself. Additionally, I used a lot of free and paid photo scans, some kitbash elements and a really amazing hazmat suit model from cgtrader.

I wouldn't have been able to achieve the cityscape with just a regular 3070 GPU if I hadn't delved into optimization beforehand. Eventually, the optimization went so well that the entire cityscape only consumed 1.9 GB of RAM during rendering. (The foreground with the character was created in a separate file because it was faster to assemble everything there without optimization).
